Karimnagar: The state's endowment department oversees a vast expanse of land that is enclosed by numerous temples. A small percentage of the lands are farmed, but most have been left fallow for no apparent reason.

The endowment department came up with the creative idea of installing solar power units in its waste lands in order to create income by using such areas.

Regarding this, state officials instructed all district level officials to follow the directives of Endowment Minister Konda Surekha in identifying appropriate lands for solar power units.

As per the criteria, it is acceptable to install solar units on land that is less than 2.5 kilometers away from the sub-station. There shouldn't be any court cases and they should be listed on the names of the temples. Furthermore, no consideration is being given to solar units on the property that is planned for future commercial development.


Only 20 acres of the department's 3,000 acres in the former Karimnagar district are eligible for solar units because the remainder of the property is located distant from sub-stations. Authorities forwarded the specifics of 20 acres to
