SL ODI selection of Sanju Samson was due to KL Rahul
India vs. Sri Lanka: Sanju Samson was not selected for the ODI series against Sri Lanka, but Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul were.
When India plays Sri Lanka in a three-match series in Colombo next month, Rishabh Pant is expected to make his ODI debut. This matchup is expected to serve as the starting point for India's ICC Champions Trophy preparations for the following year. Pant has not participated in the format since a potentially fatal accident that occurred in December 2022. Alongside KL Rahul, who had taken wickets during the 2023 ODI World Cup in Pant's absence, Pant has been picked as one of the wicketkeepers. Rahul isn't the actual backup for Pant in the format, though.
