Former England captain Michael Vaughan believes Abhishek Sharma can play for India and follow in Yashasvi Jaiswal's footsteps. Abhishek Sharma has emerged as one of Indian cricket's brightest talents, especially after his impressive batting in the current IPL season. He bats fearlessly, which is essential in modern cricket. The Indian team is looking for players who can start attacking from the beginning, and Abhishek is a perfect fit.

The left-handed opener has scored 467 runs in 13 matches at an amazing strike rate of 209.41 - the highest among players with over 400 runs this season. His powerful batting has made a strong partnership with Travis Head at Sunrisers Hyderabad, ensuring success for their team.
Former England captain Michael Vaughan believes Abhishek can represent India soon and replicate Yashasvi Jaiswal's journey.
"If you look at Yashasvi Jaiswal's story, he quickly progressed through the IPL and into the Indian side. He has been amazing in Test cricket. It might be early to say, but Abhishek could do the same," Vaughan told Cricbuzz.
The former English captain praised Abhishek's technical skills, comparing him to legendary left-handed batters like Brian Lara and Yuvraj Singh.
"He could easily perform in all three formats. His technical skills are excellent. He has a swing like Brian Lara and Yuvraj Singh," he added. Abhishek debuted in the IPL in 2018, but it took time to show his full potential. This season, he has hit 41 sixes - the most this season.
Vaughan suggested that Abhishek is close to making his India debut and could become an instant star like Jaiswal.
"Yashasvi's story is remarkable; you rarely see players perform like they've been playing for 15 years on the international stage. But I think Abhishek is not far behind," said Vaughan.
"When you consider his talent and the number of great Indian batters in the IPL, he is at the top. Fantastic," said Vaughan.
