Shalin Bhanot Unperturbed by Personal Life in the Limelight: "I Have Nothing to Hide"
Shalin Bhanot Ventures into the World of Reality TV with Khatron Ke Khiladi 14
Since 2005, actor Shalin Bhanot has been a prominent figure in the TV industry, accustomed to the public scrutiny that comes with his profession, even if it means his personal life is openly discussed. Bhanot maintains that he has nothing to hide and stresses that what people perceive through various mediums is only a fraction of reality.
At the age of 40, the actor's personal life became the center of attention during his challenging separation from ex-wife Dalljiet Kaur back in 2015. Despite his love life eventually fading from fans' memories, it reemerged during his stint on a reality show, reigniting discussions about personal matters. Nonetheless, Shalin remains unperturbed by such attention.
"I'm not perturbed by the exposure of my personal life to the public because it represents only about 20-30 percent of my overall life, and I've consistently maintained its privacy within my own boundaries. Despite occasional revelations, I remain unaffected. As an actor and public figure, I understand that it's an inherent aspect of the profession," he elaborates.
The actor elaborates, "Even our most intimate moments, like arriving at the airport late at night with family, are captured, but if you let it bother you, it becomes challenging to handle. So, it doesn't bother me; I have nothing to hide."
Shalin has previously participated in various reality shows such as Nach Baliye 4, Box Cricket League, and Bigg Boss 16. However, he isn't worried about being pigeonholed.
"If I had done reality shows back to back, it might have felt that way, but that wasn't the case. So, I don't concern myself with being typecast. You can repeat the same thing a hundred times, and it will still remain genuine and original for both yourself and the audience," the actor affirms.
With the natural progression of many television actors towards films, there's curiosity about whether Shalin will delve into more film projects following his roles in the 2006 film Pyaare Mohan and the 2016 film Love Ke Fundey.
"I'm willing to explore various mediums, but it ultimately depends on filmmakers considering me for their projects. I'm interested in participating in projects that are intellectually stimulating and entertaining. I'm open to working in any medium because I'm someone who enjoys being productive and dedicated to my work," Shalin states.
