LOS ANGELES — Police evicted a prior camp last spring after it was attacked by counterprotesters, and they blocked plans by pro-Palestinian demonstrators to set up a new one at the University of California, Los Angeles.

According to a statement from Rick Braziel, UCLA deputy vice chancellor for campus safety, officers made 27 arrests during the rally late on Monday.

According to UCLA police, one of the people received a citation for intentionally disrupting university activities, and the other for interfering with an officer. After being given a 14-day notice to avoid UCLA, they were set free.

According to Braziel, any student who is arrested will be subject to disciplinary punishment, which may include being barred from the school, preventing them from taking final exams, or preventing them from attending graduation.

As they relocated to several areas, the protesters attempted again to erect barriers, tents, and canopies, interfering with nearby final examinations. According to the police, the group also vandalized cars, destroyed patio furniture, spray-painted brick walks, messed with fire safety equipment, and damaged a fountain.
