Vijayawada: On Wednesday, N Chandrababu Naidu, the leader of the Telgugu Desam Party (TDP), was sworn in as the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was among the Union Ministers present during the occasion, along with Amit Shah, JP Nadda, and Nitin Gadkari.

On stage, Chief Minister Naidu hugged PM Modi after taking the oath of office.

Naidu is taking over as Andhra Chief Minister for the fourth time, and the second time since the 2014 split.

Prior to the Andhra split, in 1995, Naidu assumed the position of chief minister and led the state for nine years in a row till 2004. In 2014, the TDP leader was appointed chief minister of the split Andhra again, a position he held till 2019.

At the swearing-in ceremony were former Telangana governor Tamilisai Soundarajan and Andhra governor S Abdul Nazeer.
Actors Nandamuri Balakrishna, Rajnikanth, and Chiranjeevi were among those in attendance, along with Naidu's son and TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh.

In both the Assembly and the parliamentary elections, Naidu guided the TDP-BJP-Janasena National Democratic Alliance to a resounding win.

With 135 MLAs, the TDP leads the 175-member Andhra Pradesh assembly, followed by the BJP with eight and its partners, the Janasena Party, with 21. With 11 lawmakers, the opposing YSR Congress Party is strong.

The TDP has announced a list of its 21 MLAs, three Janasena Party MLAs, and one BJP MLA that will make up the Cabinet.

Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, Payyavula Kesav, Kollu Ravindra, Ponguru Narayana, Vangalapudi Anita, Anagani Satya Prasad, Kolusu Parthasaradhi, Kola Balaveeranjaneya Swamy, Gottipati Ravi, Gummadi Sandhyarani, BC Janardhan Reddy, TG Bharath, and other TDP MLAs are among the TDP MLAs who will be taking an oath.
