Prime Minister Narendra Modi disclosed that India intends to host the Olympics in 2036 while speaking with athletes headed to Paris. He also invited the contingent to share any insightful insights they may have from their experience.

During an online and in-person meeting with athletes heading to Paris on Thursday, Prime Minister Modi stated that athletes will greatly benefit the nation by sharing their experiences.

"We want to host the Olympics in 2036 because it will contribute to the development of a sporting environment." In the conversation, which was witnessed by the national men's hockey team, the shooting contingent, boxers, and track and field athletes like Neeraj Chopra, he stated that work was being done to build the infrastructure for it.

"When you have some free time, I would like you to follow the arrangements, but I won't expect you to do anything in the middle of your events. Your suggestions will support our 2036 bid. We will be aware of how to ensure that we are more well equipped," he continued.

"Interacted with our delegation that was going to the Olympics in Paris. Our athletes will give it their all and represent India with pride, I'm sure of it. 1.4 billion Indians are inspired by their achievements and life stories to have hope, Modi wrote on social media after the event.

From July 26 to August 11, the Paris Olympics will take place, and India will be looking to surpass its record seven medals, which includes the historic gold medal in javelin throw set by Neeraj Chopra at the Tokyo Games.

A video of the exchange was shared by Prime Minister Modi on Friday morning, with the remark, "A memorable interaction with our contingent for Paris Olympics." Together, let's #Cheer4Bharat.

More than a hundred Indian athletes, including a record 21 shooters, have qualified for the Games and will be looking to snap the two-year medal drought.
