Rahul's vote share dropped, but Priyanka's Wayanad debut ensured a Congress win in Kerala.

Rahul was blamed for several organizational flaws for his easy victory in the Wayanad seat, albeit with a smaller vote share and margin than in 2019.

Rahul's vote share dropped, but Priyanka's Wayanad debut ensured a Congress win in Kerala.

Although the Congress is thrilled that Priyanka Gandhi would utilize Kerala's Wayanad Lok Sabha seat as a springboard for her career in politics, Rahul Gandhi's declining victory margin in the most recent elections points to a number of inadequacies in the party's organization and its campaigning in the constituency.

In order to win votes in Kerala, the Congress is mostly depending on Priyanka's star power rather than doing groundwork in the well-known constituency. Kerala had a pro-Congress wave during the Lok Sabha elections, especially in the state's northern region. 18 of the 20 Lok Sabha seats in the state were won by the BJP, a one-seat decrease from 2019. Its total vote percentage decreased to 35.06% this time around from 37.46% in 2019.
