A prominent Karnataka legislator and rising leader of the Scheduled Tribe (ST) community, who was first appointed as a minister in May 2023 upon the formation of the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government, resigned on Thursday following his involvement in an alleged case of embezzlement involving the misappropriation of Rs 94.73 crore from the Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation.
