Kakatiya University forms a group to prevent encroachment on land.

Warangal: In response to claims that certain people had encroached on Kakatiya University (KU) property, Vice-Chancellor (In-charge) Vakati Karuna formed a seven-member team to carry out a thorough land survey and look into any encroachment.

The committee has named T Manohar, Dean of Social Sciences, as its chairperson. The members include University College Principal Suresh Lal, former Development Officer and SDLDCE Director V Ranchandram, Director of the Legal Cell M Srinivas, Development Officer N Vasudeva Reddy, KU Engineer P Ramaiah, and Superintendent of the Buildings Division M Sunilkumar.

The seven-person group has been tasked with resolving the varsity land disputes and moving forward with the compound's construction. The State government has approved the construction of a seven-kilometer compound surrounding the university, costing Rs 10 crore.  The establishment of the institution required the acquisition of roughly 673.12 acres, of which 188.28 acres were located in the Kumarpally suburb, 309.20 acres in Lashkar Singaram, and 175.14 acres in Palivelpula, according to revenue records.

Authorities from the university claim that land encroachment mostly occurred in survey numbers 229 and 213 in Kumarpally, 32 and 412 in Lashkar Singaram, and 412, 413, and 414 in the Palivelpula region. Notifications would soon be sent by the university administration to everyone implicated in the invasion.
