INLD, BSP to run together in the Haryana elections

Chandigarh: The leaders of the two parties declared on Thursday that the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and its erstwhile ally, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), will once more collaborate for the Haryana Assembly elections that are slated for later this year.

According to the agreement, the BSP would run for 37 of the 90 Assembly seats in Haryana, with its senior partner taking up the remaining seats. This is where the ruling BJP hopes to win power for the third consecutive term.

Speaking at a joint press conference with the BSP in Nayagaon, on the outskirts of Chandigarh, INLD leader Abhay Chautala stated that this alliance was formed with consideration for people's sensitivities rather than any self-serving motives.

According to him, the BSP and INLD are considering ways to empower marginalized groups and ensure that the impoverished receive justice.

We have made the decision in Haryana to contest the forthcoming Assembly elections together. The general public's sentiment now is to remove the BJP from office and prevent the Congress party, which plundered the state for ten years prior, from coming to power, Chautala stated.

BSP national coordinator Akash Anand reported that Chautala and BSP supremo Mayawati had just conducted a thorough meeting to discuss strengthening the partnership.
