Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a blistering attack on PM Modi during a rally in Delhi, accusing him of favoring a select group of industrialists and undermining the Constitution. He promised swift implementation of women's reservation and criticized the Agniveer scheme.

Speaking at an election rally in Dilshad Garden, East Delhi, in support of the Congress' North East Delhi candidate Kanhaiya Kumar, Rahul referred to Modi's statement "God has sent me" during a recent television interview and remarked that "if an ordinary person had made such a statement, people would have advised him to seek psychiatric help." He also criticized the interview, stating that it was conducted by four of Modi's "sycophants."

"This individual supposedly sent by 'God' only serves the interests of 22 people," Rahul stated, accusing Modi and his Bharatiya Janata Party-led government of colluding with industrialists Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani, who, according to him, wield significant influence over crucial policies. "When ordinary citizens request infrastructure such as roads, hospitals, and education, Narendra Modi remains inactive," he added.

Rahul also continued his criticism of the central government's Agniveer scheme, stating that the INDIA bloc will discard the scheme if voted to power because "it is against the army and patriotism."

"A soldier will be honored as a martyr and receive a pension, but 'Agniveer' personnel will not be recognized as martyrs, nor will they receive a pension or social security," said Rahul.

Additionally, Rahul pledged immediate reservation for women if elected. "These days, the contract system is being imposed on poor families, most of whom belong to the Dalit, backward, and tribal communities. That is why Congress guarantees that we will abolish the contract system in government jobs and PSUs. Prime Minister Modi passed the women's reservation bill with great fanfare and stated it would be implemented after 10 years. But Congress guarantees that we will provide immediate reservation to women in the Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha, and Vidhan Sabha. Women will also be granted 50% reservation in central government jobs. Without the participation of women, this country cannot progress," he added.

"Nowadays, both men and women work in every field from agriculture to corporate. But when they both return in the evening, the second shift of women, who take care of the household, starts. Women work for 16 hours, but they don’t receive anything for that extra eight hours of work," he said.

Rahul also reiterated the INDIA bloc’s allegations against the BJP, stating that the party will "alter the Constitution" if it wins the Lok Sabha elections. "BJP leaders have openly stated that they will amend the Constitution... I want to tell the BJP and RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) members not to harbor such illusions... this is beyond your control and you cannot accomplish it. Before you, millions of people of Hindustan stand, along with the Congress party. If you attempt to change the Constitution, observe the consequences," he remarked.

The statements also came a day after the Election Commission of India reprimanded the BJP and Congress and urged the parties to avoid making statements that create false impressions that "the Constitution may be abolished or sold."

"In this election, the fight is for safeguarding the Indian Constitution. It is not simply a book; our Constitution carries thousands of years of ideological heritage from Gandhi, Ambedkar, and Nehru," the Congress leader said, adding that the BJP also "planned to end reservations."

"Reservations have originated from the Constitution... these individuals want to abolish reservations. We will not allow reservations to be abolished," said Rahul.

Following the rally, Rahul, along with Congress candidates Kanhaiya Kumar and Udit Raj, took the Delhi Metro and engaged with their fellow passengers.
