India's Zimbabwe series team was revealed, with Shubman Gill serving as captain.
The team management decided to give Gill and pacer Avesh Khan a break since they were unlikely to play in any of the T20 World Cup matches. Gill had traveled with the Indian side to the USA as a reserve player.
The team for the forthcoming Zimbabwe series, which is set to start on July 6, was formally revealed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday.
Shubman Gill will skipper the team, as previously reported by the Indian Express. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, and Suryakumar Yadav are among the players who will be missing this series.
