AAP praises Supreme Court's ruling on Kejriwal

News on Arvind Kejriwal LIVE: In a significant move, Arvind Kejriwal was granted interim release by the Supreme Court on Friday in connection with his apprehension by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the agency's money laundering investigation in the broader Delhi liquor policy case. Kejriwal's request against his arrest was also forwarded to a larger panel by the three-judge bench.
But the chief minister of Delhi will be behind bars because he is under judicial custody in another case that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is looking into related to this one.
Prior to this, on May 17, the Supreme Court postponed its decision on Kejriwal's appeal, which is being handled by eminent lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi. The national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was detained by the ED on March 21 after he disregarded all nine of the federal agency's summonses.
Kejriwal claimed in his Supreme Court petition that his detention following the General Elections' declaration on March 18 was "motivated by extraneous considerations".
