Hollywood concept artist claims that the creators of Kalki 2898 AD stole his work for the trailer, saying that it is improper to copy artwork without permission. In the teaser for Kalki 2898 AD, a concept artist has accused Vyjayanthi Movies of stealing his artwork from ten years ago.
Kalki 2898 AD, a dystopian sci-fi action movie directed by Nag Ashwin, released its debut trailer on Monday. The movie, which stars Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani, is scheduled to open in theaters on June 27 after experiencing a few postponements and delays. Following the release of the new trailer, many began drawing comparisons between Mad Max: Fury Road and Hollywood films such as Dune and Kalki's post-apocalyptic universe. Concept illustrator and designer Sung Choi, who has collaborated with Marvel Studios, Disney, and Warner Bros., has now moved to social media to criticize Kalki 2898 AD, Vyjayanthi Movies, for what appears to be a blatant ripoff of his artwork. The controversial frame appears at the opening of the movie trailer.
