Fraudsters steal Rs. 1 lakh from Nalgonda farmer's account.

Hyderabad: Two unauthorised transactions totaling Rs 1 lakh were taken from the bank account of a gullible farmer in Chundur village, Nalgonda district, by cyber hackers. A link in the name of Union Bank was emailed to farmer Veeramalla Nagaraju, who was excitedly awaiting word from the bank on the loan forgiveness. The site requested that he update his credentials.

Believing it to be authentic from the bank, he clicked on the link to comply and provided all of his information, only to discover that he had been tricked. It was later discovered that he had Rs 1 lakh less in his account balance. He brought up the matter with the local police and the bank. The cops gave him advice and opened a case.
