AAP Claims Swati Maliwal Filed FIR Against Bibhav Kumar Due to ACB Case Against Her

AAP Claims Swati Maliwal Filed Assault FIR Against Arvind Kejriwal's Aide Under BJP's Influence

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday claimed Swati Maliwal filed the assault FIR against Arvind Kejriwal's aide Bibhav Kumar under the ruling BJP's influence. AAP leader Atishi alleged the former DCW chief was being used as a "pawn" and was made to "hatch this conspiracy" using an old Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) case as leverage.

Atishi Accuses BJP of Using Same Tactics in Swati Maliwal Case

"The Enforcement Directorate (ED), Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Anti-Corruption Bureau, Income Tax Department, and Economic Offences Wing were used to blackmail opposition leaders and force them to join BJP. Similarly, the same tactic was used in the Swati Maliwal case. The Anti-Corruption Bureau has a case against Swati Maliwal, with an FIR filed and an investigation underway. Using this, Swati Maliwal was made to hatch this conspiracy and was used as a pawn," Atishi told ANI.

Atishi Alleges Swati Maliwal Had Contact with BJP Leaders

Atishi alleged that Swati Maliwal had been in touch with BJP leaders.

"There should be an unbiased probe into who was in contact with whom. Swati Maliwal met all BJP members, and we need to know when, and what conversations they had on call and WhatsApp," she added.

In 2016, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) filed a charge sheet against Maliwal for allegedly making illegal appointments in the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW). It claimed she favored AAP workers.

Swati Maliwal and Bibhav Kumar File Complaints Against Each Other

Swati Maliwal has alleged that Bibhav Kumar attacked her inside Arvind Kejriwal's drawing room on Monday. She has filed a police complaint against Arvind Kejriwal's aide.

Bibhav Kumar has also filed a complaint against Swati Maliwal, claiming she verbally abused him with the intent to assault him.

BJP Chief JP Nadda Criticizes AAP Over Claims Involving Swati Maliwal

Meanwhile, BJP chief JP Nadda criticized AAP for alleging that his party sent Swati Maliwal to entrap Arvind Kejriwal. He stated that AAP has no credibility.

"Aam Aadmi Party is built on lies, and its credibility is not zero, it is in the negatives. Today, Arvind Kejriwal has been exposed to the people of the country and Delhi. He has been exposed in every way... If this was a plot by BJP, then why were you moving the mic (during the press conference in Lucknow) from here to there? Why are you silent? What is stopping you?" he told ANI.

JP Nadda Denies BJP Leaders Contacted Swati Maliwal

JP Nadda further stated that no BJP leader was in touch with Swati Maliwal.

According to Maliwal's FIR, Arvind Kejriwal was present in the house when the alleged assault took place. She claimed Bibhav Kumar slapped her 8 times and kicked her in the stomach.

On Friday, AAP claimed Swati Maliwal wanted to target Arvind Kejriwal. The party also stated that a video shows her arguing with security personnel and abusing Kumar.

Kumar said Swati Maliwal wanted to meet Arvind Kejriwal without an appointment and barged into his house.
