CSK's Indian and foreign players join Ambati Rayudu in ridiculing RCB after their exit from IPL 2024
CSK bowlers Matheesha Pathirana and Deepak Chahar swiftly responded to Ambati Rayudu's post making fun of RCB, adding amusing emojis.
Former Indian cricketer Ambati Rayudu recently shared a light-hearted post on social media poking fun at the Royal Challengers Bangalore after their defeat in Eliminator 1 against the Rajasthan Royals on Wednesday. Rayudu, a former player for Chennai Super Kings himself, took to Instagram to share a video from last year's campaign with the team, when the Yellow Army secured its fifth title.
The video showcased Devon Conway, Ravindra Jadeja, Ajinkya Rahane, and Moeen Ali celebrating the team's victory by displaying five with their hands. The former Indian batsman captioned the post, "Just a gentle reminder from the 5-time champions. Sometimes a subtle reminder is necessary."
Meanwhile, CSK bowlers Matheesha Pathirana and Deepak Chahar promptly responded to Rayudu's post, adding humorous emojis. Pathirana used a laughing emoji, while Chahar opted for a 'salute' emoji.
Both bowlers exited the team early this season due to injuries. Indian paceman Deepak Chahar failed to fully recover from his injury despite multiple attempts to rejoin the team. On the other hand, Pathirana had an impressive season with the Yellow Army, claiming 13 wickets from just six matches. However, the Sri Lankan bowler had to return to his home country due to a hamstring injury that required further treatment.
In the group stage, the defending champions were eliminated by RCB, who won their sixth consecutive match of the tournament after initially winning only one of their first seven matches. This propelled them into the playoffs, replacing CSK. With their momentum, they were seen as strong contenders to win the title this season. However, a lackluster performance with the bat led to their downfall, extending their wait for a first-ever title to 17 years.
