Wayanad: According to a statement released by officials on Tuesday, 225 Army personnel have been sent in to assist with rescue efforts in Wayanad, Kerala, where landslides have claimed 11 lives. Massive landslides that occurred in the early hours of Tuesday struck the Meppadi area in Wayanad, resulting in at least 11 deaths and several suspected injuries. According to the statement, the Army was sent a request on Tuesday morning to assist civil authority. Four columns have been mobilized by the Army in response, comprising two columns from the 122 Infantry Battalion (Territorial Army) and two from the DSC Center, Kannur.
