T20WC Drama: Hardik Pandya's absence in Agarkar's strategy raises questions

Hardik Pandya Omitted as Agarkar's 'Four Spinners' T20WC Choice Questioned Before India's Warm-Up Game vs Bangladesh

A former India manager shared a strong opinion on India's plan to pick four spinners for the T20 World Cup.

India captain Rohit Sharma's strategy was clear in his choice of four spinners—Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja, and wristspinners Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal—for the T20 World Cup. This choice, revealed in late April, led to many questions.

However, as the team got ready for their warm-up game against Bangladesh at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York, Rohit and selection chairman Ajit Agarkar faced a new opinion on their T20 World Cup decision.

Former India manager and Tamil Nadu left-arm spinner Sunil Subramanian, who also coaches R Ashwin, shared a strong opinion.

He thinks India might have included one spinner too many in the World Cup team. He suggested dropping vice-captain Hardik Pandya for left-arm fast bowler Khaleel Ahmed and replacing Axar with middle-order batter Rinku Singh, believing this would have balanced the team better.
