The fat-burning zone, according to Dr. Surender Pal Singh, Head of the Physiotherapy Department at CK Birla Hospital (R), Delhi, is a range of heart rates (usually between 70 and 80% of maximum heart rate) where your body burns fat efficiently for energy. He noted that although some publications assert a wider range (60-80%), the 70-80% window is generally acknowledged.
