New Delhi: In a kidnapping case involving one of the victims of her son's alleged sexual assaults, Bhavani Revanna, the mother of suspended JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna, was granted anticipatory bail by the Supreme Court on Wednesday. The court declined to throw aside the relief.

Revanna received notice on the appeal filed by the Karnataka government against an order of the Karnataka High Court from a bench of Justices Surya Kant and Ujjal Bhuyan.

"The accused is a fifty-five-year-old woman. Serious accusations have been made against her kid for engaging in horrible behavior. After running away, he was eventually apprehended. Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal, appearing on behalf of the Karnataka government's Special Investigation Team (SIT), was questioned by the Bench over the potential role of the mother in aiding and abetting her son's criminal activity in the wake of such allegations.

According to Sibal, the victim was being held captive by the family at their request, and the relief that was provided was "very unfortunate."
