Review of Satyabhama: Kajal Aggarwal's film is boring to watch

Review of Satyabhama: Satyabhama is a predictable movie that has elements from previous police dramas. It also has some surprising developments. It is slightly more intriguing, though, because Kajal Aggarwal is at its core.

Review of Satyabhama: Kajal Aggarwal's film is boring to watch

With a female police officer at its center and a first-time director, it makes sense to anticipate Satyabhama to be an intensely captivating thriller. But despite a powerful performance by Kajal Aggarwal as ACP Satyabhama, director Suman Chikkala wasted the chance to turn this Telugu movie into a genuine police drama with a lot of punch.

The protagonist of the movie, ACP Satyabhama (Kajal), is a pivotal character who prioritizes her duties with great determination. She is so focused on rescuing Haseena, a young lady in an abusive relationship, that she is even running late for her own wedding to author Amar. Satyabhama had broken her commitment to Haseena and her younger brother, Iqbal, and this has unfortunately haunted her since she was unable to stop Haseena from being murdered. Unexpectedly, Iqbal vanishes as well, and Satyabhama begins to look into this startling development.

The entire scenario that Satyabhama finds himself in following Haseena's passing and Iqbal's disappearance is established in the first part of the movie. Her marriage and Amar's wish to have a child are also factors, which would undoubtedly hinder her profession. She struggles to balance her personal and professional lives, but for the time being, her career comes first. In order to project Satyabhama as a formidable female police officer who adheres to protocol, she is shown as a quick-witted individual who is always giving directives to her subordinates and actively working to solve crimes. Although she seems knowledgeable, a lot of the hints and opportunities that come her way just so happen to fit in her lap. The plot is made weaker by the careless and time-consuming transition into the Iqbal, Rishi, and Divya story. As the movie progresses into its second half, things begin to fall apart rapidly. Sadly, there is never any emotional resonance with this movie.

Suman Chikkala, the director, has made an effort to portray a strong and compassionate female police officer who fights for justice and stands up for what's right at all costs. However, the story's demise is brought about by the additional aspects he incorporated. In addition to the brother-sister dynamic, there is also domestic abuse, terrorism, a religious perspective, a reality video game, a political angle, and, above all, Satybhama's inner agony. The audience starts to lose interest in Sashi Kiran Tikka's writing because it is simply too complicated and jumps from the main plot to other subplots.

By the end of the movie, Kajal Aggarwal, also known as Satyabhama, is solving crimes including terrorism and other issues. At the beginning of the movie, she is the head of the police SHE squad that assists abused women. Satyabhama would have been much more entertaining to watch if the author had stayed true to the central idea and created a suspenseful story around it.

Although Kajal Aggarwal does a fantastic job as Satyabhama, she is limited by the scripted role. She did an excellent job, particularly in the action sequences, which are essential in a cop movie. As her spouse, Naveen Chandra is fine, although he didn't start out in a leading role. The film does not make good use of the "cameo" cameos made by Prakash Raj, Harshvardhan, and Nagineedu. To give the roles additional nuance, the differences between Prakash Raj and Harshvardhan's parts may have been further examined.

With their performances, younger actresses like Neha Pathan, Prajwal Yadwa, Payal Radhakrishna, and Ankith Koyya do leave an impression. Sricharan Pakala, the music director, elevates Satyabhama's scenes with his music and BGM, particularly the combat blocks. But occasionally, it does become jarringly loud.
