Princess Kate Makes First Public Appearance Since Cancer Diagnosis

Britain's Princess of Wales, Kate, arrived at Buckingham Palace on Saturday for her first public appearance since undergoing surgery five months ago, which revealed her cancer diagnosis.

Sky News broadcasted Kate's arrival, dressed in a pale outfit, as she arrived in a car with her husband Prince William and their three children to attend "Trooping the Colour".

The annual military parade in central London commemorates the official birthday of King Charles, the British monarch.

Since announcing her cancer diagnosis, Kate has been undergoing preventive chemotherapy. Despite ongoing treatment, her improved health now allows her to make her first public appearance since December.

In a rare personal written message on Friday, she mentioned making good progress but acknowledged she was still facing uncertainties. Expressing her anticipation for attending Saturday's parade, she also expressed hopes of participating in several public engagements over the summer.

Kate was hospitalized for two weeks in January following significant abdominal surgery. Two months later, she disclosed in a video message that tests had confirmed she had cancer.

In her message on Friday, Kate expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from thousands of kind messages worldwide, noting the significant impact they had on both her and William, the heir to King Charles.

"I am making positive strides, though as anyone undergoing chemotherapy understands, there are days that are more challenging than others," Kate's statement conveyed.

Kensington Palace, her office, has chosen not to disclose specifics regarding the type of cancer or her treatment, aside from confirming that preventative chemotherapy commenced in February.

Her illness has overlapped with that of Charles, aged 75, who is also undergoing cancer treatment. He resumed public engagements in April and has maintained an active schedule, albeit with reduced diary commitments to safeguard his recuperation.
