On its first day, the Rohit Saraf-Pashmina Roshan flick does better than Laapataa Ladies.

This Friday marks the release in theaters of Ishq Vishq Rebound, the Gen Z adaptation of Shahid Kapoor's debut film, which features Pashmina Roshan, Rohit Saraf, Jibraan Khan, and Naila Grewal in the key roles. At the box office, Ishq Vishq Rebound had a dismal start. The movie made Rs 85 lakh, according to industry tracking website Sacnilk.

For more than a month, all four of the film's teenage performers actively promoted it, but this didn't pay off at the box office. There aren't many Hindi movies showing in theaters right now, so it remains to be seen if the movie does well over the weekend. The Chandu Champion from last week might present some competition for the movie.
