Maharashtra Election Results 2024: The opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) of the Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) were leading with 29 out of 48 seats, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) suffered a setback in the state's Lok Sabha polls, with its tally falling by almost half compared to the 2019 elections.

Based on the latest trends in vote counting and the results, the BJP-led NDA in Maharashtra looks to be well short of its goal of winning over 45 seats in the state. Vote counts have revealed the MVA taking a commanding lead, despite multiple exit polls for the Lok Sabha election pointing to a resounding victory for the BJP-led Mahayuti in Maharashtra. Voter tallying is still in progress.Exit polls had predicted 22 to 35 seats to the Mahayuti in Maharashtra, and 15 to 26 seats to the MVA. The situation on June 4 however seems almost reversed. Overall, the INDI Alliance has gained lead in 29 seats — Congress in 13, Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena in nine, and Sharad Pawar's NCP in seven.

With 18 seats overall, the NDA leads the BJP (10), Shiv Sena (led by Eknath Shinde) with seven, and the NCP (led by Ajit Pawar) with one. Battleground Maharashtra saw fierce contests between the split factions of the Nationalist Congress Party and Shiv Sena: NCP Sharad Pawar group and NCP Ajit Pawar group; Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray (SHS UBT) and Shiv Sena Eknath Shinde faction (SHS). 

With the support of the Ajit Pawar-led NCP in five seats and the Shiv Sena (Shinde) in 14, the BJP ran candidates in 28 seats.
