Bengaluru: The Siddaramaiah-led Congress government voiced its opposition to the NEET medical entrance exam on Thursday, passing a resolution in both state legislatures against it and requesting that the Centre permit the state to return to the former CET system for medical admissions in Karnataka. The resolution called for the Union Government to exempt the State of Karnataka from the NEET exam and permit it to offer admissions to medical colleges based on the Common Entrance Test (CET) administered by the state government. It did this by pointing out the exam's shortcomings and recent anomalies.
