Kangana Ranaut slap row: Shabana Azmi: No love lost, but I can't rejoice

Veteran performer Shabana Azmi declared that she "had no love lost" for Kangana Ranaut, who claimed that at the Chandigarh airport, a female CISF constable had smacked her. She added that she was unable to enjoy the incident with others.

    Veteran actor Shabana Azmi responded to the Chandigarh airport incident involving her colleague and recently elected MP for the BJP, Kangana Ranaut, who was allegedly hit and mistreated by a female CISF constable. She declared that she could not join the "chorus" of people rejoicing over the incident and that she had "no love lost" for Kangana Ranaut.

    "My feelings for Kangana Ranaut are still intact. However, I find it difficult to join the chorus in applauding "the slap." We cannot all be safe if security guards start enforcing the law," she tweeted early on Saturday.

  • Shabana Azmi's response was made while Kangana Ranaut was the subject of a 2020 defamation lawsuit brought by Azmi's husband Javed Akhtar. Under those circumstances, Javed Akhtar claimed that Kangana Ranaut's 2020 words regarding Sushant Singh Rajput's passing damaged his reputation.

    The following year, Kangana Ranaut accused Javed Akhtar of insulting her modesty in a countercomplaint.

    When the fiery actor-turned-politician was going through security on Tuesday at the Chandigarh airport before boarding Vistara flight UK707 to Delhi, the incident happened.
    After winning in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, Kangana Ranaut said a constable came up to her from behind and struck her in the face before starting to yell insults at her. As she stated, she asked
