English victory over the West Indies in the second test has updated the ICC World Test Championship points table.

In the second Test of their series, England defeated the West Indies handily 241 runs to climb up from the bottom of the ICC World Test Championship standings and remain in contact with the competition's leaders. The match took place in Nottingham. According to an ICC news release, the hosts completed the series-clinching victory late on the fourth day. Spinner Shoaib Bashir (5/41) claimed his third career five-wicket haul to help England dismiss the West Indies for 143 in pursuit of 385 for victory.

With the third and final Test set to begin in Birmingham on Friday, Ben Stokes' team will have the opportunity to complete a series sweep against the West Indies, which puts England ahead 2-0 in the three-match series.

Additionally, the win propels England into sixth place on the current table in the World Test Championship standings, surpassing South Africa, Bangladesh, and the West Indies.

The statement also stated that after the series' last game against the West Indies, England will host Sri Lanka for three Test matches on home soil starting at the end of the next month. After that, they will tour Pakistan in October and New Zealand in November and December for additional three-match series.

After the late collapse against England at Trent Bridge, the West Indies drop to ninth in the rankings with a 22.22 percent win-loss record. They still have seven Test matches in this time against England (one), South Africa (two), Bangladesh (two), and Pakistan (two).

For the series decider, England has selected an unchanged team, while the West Indies will be looking to get back spinner Gudakesh Motie, who missed the second Test due to illness.
