BJP's Strategy for West Bengal, Odisha in Final Lok Sabha Phase!
As the Lok Sabha polls enter their final phase, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is intensifying its efforts to make inroads into West Bengal and Odisha. In this video, we delve into the BJP's strategy for these crucial states and analyze the factors driving their focus in the last phase of the elections.
BJP aims to gain ground in West Bengal and Odisha in the final phase of Lok Sabha polls.
In 2019, the BJP won 18 seats in West Bengal, a significant victory for the party, considering its limited presence on the ground.
For the final phase of the ongoing Lok Sabha polls, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are making extensive efforts to secure a significant number of the 57 seats where elections will take place on June 1st.
On Wednesday, PM Modi will deliver four rallies, one in West Bengal and three in Odisha.
In both states, the party has been diligently working to broaden its influence and consolidate its position in the political landscape.
In 2019, the BJP secured 18 seats in West Bengal, a significant victory for the party despite its limited presence on the ground.
The BJP then launched an aggressive campaign in the state against the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC), positioning itself as an alternative.
The high-voltage campaign that commenced in 2019 contributed to the party's strong performance in the 2021 assembly polls in the state, resulting in the party winning 77 seats.
The highlight of the election was the BJP candidate Suvendhu Adhikari, a former aide of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, defeating her in her stronghold of Nandigram.
Adhikari, previously considered a close associate of Banerjee, is credited with aiding the BJP in gaining traction in the state, despite its perceived disconnect with the BJP’s ideology due to its strong communist roots.
Now established as the primary opposition in the state, the BJP aims to increase its Lok Sabha representation, laying the groundwork for the 2026 assembly polls.
In Odisha as well, the BJP is optimistic about not only doubling its Lok Sabha seats - it won 8 out of 21 seats in 2019 - but also asserting its capability to form the government in the state.
Just as in West Bengal, where the Congress and the Left parties are no longer considered strong contenders, the BJP in Odisha has also presented itself as the alternative to the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD).
The BJD has secured victory in the assembly elections for the past five terms and is optimistic about repeating its success.
