BJP Does Not Have A Majority Nitish Kumar, Chandrababu Naidu Declarative Expressions
JDU and TDP are aware that the BJP needs their backing, thus they will probably haggle hard for central positions.
New Delhi : Due to the BJP's lack of majority in the Lok Sabha, its allies in the NDA have been negotiating assiduously for prestigious ministries at the federal level. It is understood that the allies, which included former Coalition members N Chandrababu Naidu and Nitish Kumar, presented their demands during yesterday's NDA meeting. Although there is now no official word on what they have demanded, intense negotiations are reportedly underway.
There are rumors that Mr. Naidu's TDP, which has won 16 Lok Sabha seats and a landslide victory in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, has asked for five cabinet positions, including the position of Speaker of the Lok Sabha and Minister of State for Finance. Additionally, TDP can be considering portfolios like Panchayati Raj, Health, and Education.
As per party sources, the JDU, which currently has 12 MPs in the Lok Sabha, anticipates receiving two Cabinet seats and one post as MoS. They also said that selecting a new Railways Minister will be crucial. A coordination committee to oversee the implementation of the Common Minimum Programme and a new NDA government may also be demanded by the party led by Nitish Kumar. A resolution defining the common agenda of coalition partners is called a Common Minimum Programme.
This committee was convened by the late George Fernandes during the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government. JDU sources claim that Nitish Kumar is now the most qualified applicant for this role.
