'Keep your mouths shut. That's why Ashwin destroyed them': RCB fans brutally cooked by Srikkanth after IPL elimination
Former India captain K Srikkanth said that RCB overcelebrated their victory against CSK which got them a place in the Eliminator.
The Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) dream of winning their first Indian Premier League (IPL) ended on Wednesday. They lost to the Rajasthan Royals by four wickets in the Eliminator. RCB was the highlight of the league stage, making an improbable comeback to reach the playoffs. RCB won six matches in a row after losing all but one of their first eight games of the season.

The final act of this streak was beating Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by more than 18 runs in their last league match. This win secured the last playoff spot for RCB, taking it from the five-time champions. The RCB players celebrated wildly, which received mixed reactions. Some believed RCB deserved to celebrate due to their achievement, while others thought the celebrations were excessive. Critics also noted MS Dhoni walked off without shaking hands with the opposition.

After RCB lost the Eliminator, former India captain Krishnamachari Srikkanth said they shouldn't have “posted unnecessary videos and showed off too much” after their victory against CSK, which only secured them a playoff spot. “When you're doing well, stay quiet and keep going. Making noise about your success can backfire,” said Srikkanth on his YouTube channel.
'If you played well, congrats. If you played poorly, take the criticism'
RCB were first undone by RR's spinners, especially Ravichandran Ashwin, who restricted their runs. Ashwin took 2/19 and was the player of the match. "They were posting unnecessary videos and showing off too much after the win against CSK. That's why Ashwin came and destroyed them. In cricket, you need to stay quiet and play.
“If you played well, congrats. If you played poorly, accept the criticism. But you should never brag and show aggression. They kept congratulating themselves for making the playoffs and for the comeback. CSK and MI have done this many more times. CSK and Mumbai have both come from behind and won titles. These guys won six matches and got knocked out as soon as they qualified,” said Srikkanth.
RR entered the match on a winless run of five matches, in contrast to RCB's form before the Eliminator. RCB scored 172/8 but made RR work for their win. Rovman Powell finished the chase with a six off the last ball of the 19th over.
