Highlights of the Odisha Assembly election results


Voters for the 147 seats in the Odisha Assembly are now being counted. 

The BJP is the only party in the majority with 78 seats. It is in the lead in six seats and won 72 seats. In 50 seats, the BJD prevailed, and in one seat, it leads. The CPI(M) gained one seat while the Congress won fourteen. Additionally, three independents prevailed. 
If the BJD had prevailed, outgoing chief minister Naveen Patnaik would have surpassed former Sikkim chief minister Pawan Kumar Chamling's record as the longest-serving chief minister in India.
