Fardeen Khan Recalls Feroz Khan's Film Financing Challenges

Actor Fardeen Khan, recently featured in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi, opened up about his upbringing and the financial struggles faced by his famous father, movie star Feroz Khan, who took loans to finance his projects. Reflecting on his childhood, Fardeen recalled instances when the Khan family minimized vacations and scaled down celebrations during difficult times. Despite these challenges, he emphasized that they were shielded from the outside world while learning the importance of hard work. Fardeen also mentioned his mother's support as a flight attendant at Air India, contributing to the family's stability.
Speaking to Pinkvilla, Fardeen Khan disclosed, “My father ventured into production with his debut film, Apradh, released in 1972. During that era, personal financial responsibility was paramount.” Fardeen highlighted the challenging circumstances faced by producers who "took loans" at high interest rates to finance their films, describing it as a daunting experience for everyone involved. “Yes, we have experienced tough times. My upbringing was grounded in reality. In fact, we were shielded from the industry as much as possible... never made to feel entitled because of having a famous parent,” he emphasized.
