Exposed: Arunachal Child Trafficking-Prostitution Ring Involving Cops & Officials!

In case of child trafficking and prostitution ring busted in Arunachal Pradesh. Authorities have arrested 21 individuals, including government employees, in connection with the operation. Five minor girls, aged between 10 and 15, have been rescued from various locations, all trafficked from impoverished villages in Assam.

The accused face charges under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and the Immoral Trafficking Act. Among those arrested are government officials, including a Deputy Superintendent of Police and a Deputy Director in the Directorate of Health Services.

According to Superintendent of Police Rohit Rajbir Singh, the trafficking ring was orchestrated by two sisters, Pushpanjali Mili and Purnima Mili, originally from Assam's Dhemaji district. They lured girls from impoverished families with promises of a better life, only to exploit them in prostitution after a brief period of work in a beauty parlour.

The accused used WhatsApp groups to advertise the victims, along with rates for their services. After initial arrests, the groups disbanded as members fled. Police have gathered evidence linking the accused to financial transactions corresponding to proposed rates and traced locations to their residences or hotels involved in the trafficking operation.

Additionally, three individuals who own and manage a hotel in Chimpu were arrested, including a husband and wife duo, originally from Assam's Udalguri district. A 15-year-old girl was rescued from their establishment, allegedly forced into prostitution upon reaching adolescence.

The rescued girls are currently receiving medical treatment and psychological counseling in a child welfare home. This case highlights the grim reality of human trafficking and the need for concerted efforts to combat it effectively.
