One of the most widely shared scenes from the Lok Sabha election campaign road was this one. When Akhilesh Yadav, the president of the Samajwadi Party, was campaigning in the Faizabad constituency of Uttar Pradesh last month, he mispronounced Awadhesh Prasad's name as "poorva vidhayak (former MLA)". Akhilesh corrected himself swiftly as Prasad, who was standing next to him on the stage, informed him that he was still an MLA. With thunderous applause, Akhilesh remarked, "Poorva vidhayak isliye bol raha hoon kyunki sansad banne wale ho (I said you are a former MLA because you are about to become an MP)."
