Chandrababu Naidu Likens Drug Lord Pablo Escobar to Jagan Mohan Reddy
The attack on Chandrababu Naidu coincided with a demonstration being held in Delhi by Jaganmohan Reddy, who was displaying images and recordings of the violence in the state.
Hyderabad: Comparing his predecessor, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, to Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu unleashed a fierce attack on him in the state assembly today. The incident happened in the midst of Mr. Reddy's protest in Delhi, where he was hosting an exhibition at the India International Centre featuring pictures and videos of the state's brutality.
"Pablo Escobar is a terrorist and drug kingpin from Colombia. After becoming a politician, he established his drug-selling cartel. At the time, he made $30 billion, which is currently valued at $90 billion. After being detained in 1976, he rose to prominence as the world's biggest drug lord in 1980. One can increase their wealth by selling drugs as well,' Mr Naidu said in the assembly today.
What was YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the former chief minister, trying to accomplish? He wanted to outshine the wealthy Ambani, Tata, and Reliance. Few people are driven by necessities, few by greed, and few by frenzy, and these maniacs act in this way," he continued.
