"Breaking: AAP Slams ED Over Fresh Chargesheet Against Party, Kejriwal – Shocking Allegations Revealed!"

AAP criticizes the ED for issuing a new chargesheet against the party and Kejriwal, referring to it as the 'political wing' of BJP.

The ED has filed a new charge sheet against Arvind Kejriwal and the AAP under PMLA concerning the purported irregularities in the Delhi excise policy for 2021-22.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) criticized the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday after it filed a new charge sheet against the party and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the excise policy case. The party referred to the probe agency as the "political wing of the BJP". According to the AAP led by Kejriwal, the motive behind the excise policy case investigation is to unjustly incriminate the AAP.

"The ED is operating akin to the political arm and spokesperson of the BJP. Since the outset of this purported investigation, its intention has been to falsely implicate the AAP, apprehend all its key leaders, and dismantle the party. The ED's issuance of a charge sheet against AAP and CM Arvind Kejriwal is viewed by the party as a component of this larger political conspiracy," stated the party in a statement reported by PTI.

AAP further alleged that following the chargesheet, all of Kejriwal's and the party's properties and bank accounts would be seized, leading to "massive harassment and injustice" by the probe agency.

"This marks the first instance in the ED's history where, despite over two years of investigation, more than 500 raids, and the filing of eight chargesheets, not a single rupee has been recovered from any AAP leaders. The entire case of the ED is constructed on statements provided by accused-turned-approvers, all of whom have ties to the BJP. Whenever the courts questioned the ED about the credibility of these statements, the ED failed to provide satisfactory answers," alleged the AAP.

On Friday, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed a fresh chargesheet against Kejriwal and the AAP under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) concerning the alleged irregularities in the Delhi excise policy for 2021-22. Notably, this marks the first instance where a political party has been named as an accused in a chargesheet.

The ED's chargesheet alleges that Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of AAP, was the "kingpin" and primary conspirator in the excise policy scam. It claims that the AAP received bribes amounting to ₹100 crore from the so-called 'South Group,' which allegedly benefitted from changes made in the 2021-22 policy. Furthermore, the chargesheet asserts that Kejriwal was directly involved in formulating the excise policy and demanded kickbacks from the South Group in exchange for granting them favors.

The nearly 200-page document also alleges that the Delhi CM was implicated in utilizing ₹45 crore of the proceeds of crime in AAP's Goa election campaign.

This fresh chargesheet, the eighth in the case, comes nearly two months after the federal agency arrested Kejriwal. Presently, the CM is out of jail on interim bail to campaign for the Lok Sabha polls. The Supreme Court, in its order, has instructed Kejriwal to surrender on June 2, a day after the general election polls conclude and two days before the results are announced.
