The Rajasthani guy allegedly sold the US woman bogus jewels valued at Rs 300 for Rs 6 crore.

According to the police, a US woman has claimed that a Rajasthani store owner tricked her into paying Rs 6 crore for phony silver and gold jewelry valued at Rs 300. According to NDTV, Cherish claimed she found out the ornaments weren't real when they were on show at a recent US exhibition.

It appears that the jewelry was purchased at a store in Jaipur's Johri Bazaar. In order to confront Gaurav Soni, the shop owner, Cherish flew down to the city. However, after he denied her claims, Cherish went to the Jaipur police and asked for assistance from the US embassy, which then pushed the Jaipur Police to investigate.

The American national informed the authorities that she had contacted Soni on Instagram in 2022 and had purchased ornaments purportedly valued at Rs 6 crore, which she had been paying for instalments over the previous two years before realizing she had been deceived.

Special teams have been established, according to the police, to search for Soni and his father Rajendra Soni, who are both fugitives.

According to police, a case was filed against the proprietor of a jewellery business in Navi Mumbai earlier this year for allegedly defrauding a jeweller out of gold valued at Rs 1.9 crore.
