The second spin-off of the epic fantasy series, a six-episode program
Los Angeles: HBO, the premium cable network in the United States, has revealed that a new spin-off series has begun production, bringing the world of Game of Thrones even closer.
Filming for the television series A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms began in Belfast, Ireland.
According to a press release from HBO, it is based on the novella The Hedge Knight by author George R. R. Martin.
Along with the previously revealed cast members Peter Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell, five other performers have been added: Finn Bennett, Bertie Carvel, Tanzyn Crawford, Daniel Ings, and Sam Spruell. The six-episode program is the second spin-off from HBO's eight-season epic fantasy series, Game of Thrones, which aired from 2011 to 2019.
HBO has premiered the second season of the first spin-off, House of the Dragon.
Approximately 100 years before the events of Game of Thrones and 100 years after the events of House, respectively, the story of the knight Ser Duncan the Tall (Claffey) and his youthful squire Egg (Ansell) will be told in A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.
