New Delhi: According to officials, 8,000 VIP guests will attend Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his new government's swearing-in ceremony on Sunday, including Aiswarya S. Menon, a senior assistant loco pilot of the Chennai Division of Southern Railway.
Ms. Menon, who is currently employed with Vande Bharat trains, has over two lakh footplate hours of experience flying different trains, including the Jan Shatabdi and Vande Bharat Express.
Since its launch, she has also worked on the Vande Bharat Express services between Chennai and Vijayawada and Chennai and Coimbatore.

Asian Loco Pilot Attends PM Modi's Oath Ceremony for the First Time :
The first female loco pilot in Asia, Surekha Yadav, will also be present at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony.
There are eleven loco pilots invited to the ceremony, according to reports, including Ms. Yadav, who is now operating the Vande Bharat train from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus-Solapur.
In 1988, she not only became the first female loco pilot of the semi-high speed Vande Bharat Express, but she also became the first female train driver in India.
Special guests for the new government's swearing-in ceremony will include laborers who worked on the Central Vista Project, transgender employees, and sanitation workers, sources told NDTV.
Over 8,000 people are expected at Rashtrapati Bhavan, according to sources.
PM Modi's Sunday Oath Ceremony
President Droupadi Murmu welcomed Narendra Modi to form the government on Friday, and he will take the oath of office as prime minister for a third term in a row this Sunday evening.
At 7:15 p.m. on Sunday at Rashtrapati Bhavan, the president is expected to give the prime minister and other Union Council of Ministers the oath of office and secrecy.
Leaders from around South Asia have been invited to the event. Both Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh have already confirmed their attendance.
According to reports, invitations have also been addressed to Prime Ministers Pravind Jugnauth of Mauritius, Tshering Tobgay of Bhutan, and Pushpa Kamal Dahal, commonly known as "Prachanda," of Nepal.
PM Modi's first swearing-in ceremony was witnessed by leaders of the SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation) in 2014 and the BIMSTEC (Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation) in 2019.
Prime Minister Modi is the second Indian after Jawaharlal Nehru to be elected to a third consecutive term in office. It would be a coalition government instead of Jawaharlal Nehru's, though, as the BJP was unable to win a majority by itself in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
From its lopsided majority of 303 MPs in 2019, the party was reduced to 240 seats in 2019. Having won 352 parliamentary seats in 2019, the BJP-led NDA has now dropped to 293 but is still above the majority mark of 272.
To form the government, PM Modi and the BJP are depending on its partners. With 16 seats won by Chandrababu Naidu's Telugu Desam Party and 12 by Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal United, these two parties are the two largest BJP allies.
