Prabhas' reputation as the master of opening day hauls is set to be cemented with Kalki 2898 AD, which is predicted to have the third-biggest box office opening in Indian film history.
Kalki 2898 AD, a much awaited pan-Indian movie, is aiming for a box office debut that breaks all previous records. Industry tracker Sacnilk estimates that on its first day of worldwide distribution, the dystopian science fiction movie might bring in much to Rs 200 crore. This would not only be a record for 2024, but it would also be the third-best first-day haul in history. Prabhas has the potential to claim three of the top five largest openings ever if these estimates come true.
The actor has had a challenging career since playing in the two-part Baahubali movies; he has only had one hit and a few big-budget failures. While Telugu-speaking areas are reporting record-breaking pre-sales, Sacnilk said that there is also a noticeable increase in interest.
