A passenger who boarded the flight from Sharjah to Calicut left a note labeled "bomb" on a seat.
Kozhikode: According to airport sources, an Air Arabia flight that was supposed to depart for Sharjah on Saturday morning was the target of a fictitious bomb threat. As a result, the aircraft was grounded while the police bomb detection squad examined it.
According to a senior airport official, before boarding started, ground crew discovered a note written on one of the seats on the flight from Sharjah to Calicut that indicated "bomb."
The aircraft was then grounded, the police were notified, and the bomb detection squad thoroughly inspected the aircraft, according to the official.
Later on, it was discovered that the note was a fictitious bomb threat. We've just finished the security and inspection drills. Before the airplane is allowed for takeoff, we are expecting a report from the bomb detecting squad," the official stated at approximately 11 a.m.
Additionally, he stated that the flight, which was originally scheduled to take off at 8.30 am, will now take off at 5 pm. "Food and water have been provided to the passengers at the airport, along with accommodations," he continued.
