'With 400 seats…': Himanta Biswa Sarma's promise for Krishna Janambhoomi and Gyanvapi

Sarma stated that after securing 300 seats in 2019, Prime Minister Narendra Modi ensured the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

On Wednesday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma pledged that if the Bharatiya Janata Party-led alliance, NDA, secures 400 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, they will "build temples at the birthplace of Lord Krishna in Mathura and the mosque in Varanasi."

There exists a long-standing dispute between Hindu and Muslim factions over Mathura's Shahi Idgah mosque, which is adjacent to the Krishna Janmabhoomi temple.

On the contrary, local priests have filed a petition to perform worship in the Gyanvapi mosque complex, asserting that it was originally a part of the Kashi Vishwanath temple demolished by Aurangzeb.

Assam CM Sarma, while addressing a public gathering in Jharkhand's Bokaro in support of BJP candidate Dhullo Mahto, stated, "Give 400 seats to Modi-ji, and we will construct temples at the birthplace of Lord Krishna in Mathura and the Gyanvapi mosque in Kashi (Varanasi)," as reported by ANI. He further added, "Our work is still incomplete. Still today, at Krishna Janambhoomi, there is a Shahi Eidgah. In place of a Gyanvapi Mandir, there is a Gyanvapi Masjid. Give 400 seats to PM Modi as we have to accomplish our unfinished tasks of building temples at Krishna Janmabhoomi and at the Gyanvapi mosque."

'With 300 seats, we freed Ram Lalla from the makeshift tent': Sarma Sarma highlighted that after securing 300 seats in 2019, Prime Minister Narendra Modi ensured the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. "We liberated Ram Lalla from the temporary shelter and facilitated his return to his rightful throne," Sarma praised the grand 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony in Ayodhya.

Himanta Biswa Sarma credited the strength of 300 seats for PM Modi's decision to revoke Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.

‘Give Modi ji 400 seats and PoK will be in India’: Assam CM Referring to Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Assam CM asserted, "Kashmir comprises two parts: one under Pakistan's control and the other under India's. Provide Modi-ji with 400 seats, and witness how we reclaim Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir into India."

Sarma also claimed that under Modi's leadership, India will become a 'Vishwaguru' (world teacher) and the world's leading economy.

The general elections are being conducted in seven phases, with the counting scheduled for June 4.
