"Fear Strikes Villagers After Panthers Spotted in Rajasthan's Dausa"

In Dausa, Rajasthan, villagers experienced panic upon spotting panthers and cubs in the Mehndipur Balaji Forest area recently. Upon hearing of the panthers' presence, villagers took precautions, standing guard outside their homes with sticks to protect their livestock and pets. The rural community remains apprehensive about the movement of these panthers.

Located in the hilly areas under Mehndipur Balaji Police Station, villages like Nahar Khohra, Dhandhan, Lakhanpur, and Bhavgarh often witness wildlife, including panthers, roaming. Previous incidents of panthers hunting cattle and dogs have added to villagers' concerns.

Reports from locals indicate sightings of two adult panthers and four cubs near Rajput Dhani on Tuesday morning, sparking widespread concern. Residents gathered with sticks, wary of the panthers' potential threat, although one of the panthers eventually retreated into the bushes.

Chandraprakash Meena, ranger at Sikrai, mentioned no official confirmation of the sightings but cautioned villagers to remain cautious, particularly in populated areas, and advised against venturing into hilly terrains.

Three months ago, a young female panther fell into a deep well in Nahar Khohra village while chasing prey, triggering a 24-hour rescue operation by the Jaipur forest department.
