Coach Gambhir seeks to add ex-Dutch cricketer to Team India.

Delhi, New: It has been claimed that former Dutch cricketer Ryan ten Doeschate is being courted by newly appointed India head coach Gautam Gambhir to join the team's coaching staff.

Recently, Ryan ten Doeschate worked with Gambhir at the Kolkata Knight Riders, where he was part of the winning 2024 squad as the fielding coach.

Ten Doeschate is employed by KKR's affiliates in the Caribbean Premier League, Major League Cricket, and ILT20 in addition to his duties with the main team.

A report in Cricbuzz claims that Gambhir wants the 44-year-old Dutchman to be one of his main colleagues. Gambhir has asked for complete control over the team's management.

The BCCI, which has recently favored employing solely Indian people for coaching posts, has the last say, though. Previous rumors said that Abhishek Nayar, a crucial member of the KKR backroom staff and a former all-rounder for India, would likely become an assistant coach for Gambhir's squad.

The current discussion centers on the possible position that Ryan ten Doeschate would assume if chosen, but the BCCI wants to keep member T Dilip.
