Rain in Mumbai has prompted Shiv Sena (UBT) to ask for an additional hour for the council votes. Eleven candidates compete in the biennial elections for eleven seats. The request was started by Anil Desai. MLA voting was dominated by Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar. Eknath Shinde emphasized legitimate voting. The MLCs expire on July 27. 23 first-preference votes are needed for candidates. Concerns about cross-voting, independent MLAs, and Maha Vikas Aghadi are engaged.

Due to the severe rain in Mumbai on Friday, the Shiv Sena (UBT) urged that the Maharashtra Legislative Council votes be delayed by one hour. The Vidhan Bhavan building in south Mumbai will host the biennial elections for 11 council seats from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
