Live updates on Odisha election results in 2024: After serving as chief minister for 24 years, Naveen Patnaik lost his position when the BJP took control of the Odisha assembly.
Live results for the Odisha Lok Sabha election: The Election Commission of India reported that, as of today, counting was complete, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had secured 78 seats in the 147-member House, giving it a majority in the Odisha Assembly. With 51 Assembly seats won by the BJD, which has ruled Odisha since 2000, and 14 Assembly seats gained by the Congress. In the 2019 Assembly elections, the BJD secured 113 seats, BJP garnered 23 seats, and Congress secured 9 seats.
In the meantime, BJD has won one seat and BJP has won 20 of the 21 available seats in the Odisha Lok Sabha elections.

The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, said on the social networking platform X: "Thank you, Odisha! It's a huge win for honoring Odisha's distinctive culture and sound government. The BJP is committed to achieving the aspirations of the people and elevating Odisha to unprecedented levels of development. Preliminary estimates for the Assembly poll show that the BJD and BJP received 40.18% and 39.96% of the vote, respectively.
