Junior doctors' protests cause disruptions in healthcare

Kolkata: Junior doctors in West Bengal's state-run hospitals maintained their work stoppage on Monday in protest of their colleague's rape and murder at the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, which continued to impact healthcare services. On the opening day of the week, there was a significant rush at the outpatient departments, with senior physicians filling in for their juniors to manage the situation. "This demonstration is to demand justice for a female physician who was abused while providing 36-hour shifts to patients. Her body was found on the eleventh day, but where is the justice? We shall keep up this protest until our sister receives justice," an irate physician at the RG Kar MCH declared.
